covers Hyvinkää, Järvenpää, Kerava,
Mäntsälä,
Nurmijärvi,
Pornainen and Tuusula.

| The Local Register Office maintains the national Population
Information System, which contains information on persons,
buildings, apartments and real estate. The Local Register
Office records the information from its own area of operations
and any changes therein. |

| The latest tasks of the Local Register Office
include the maintenance of the motor boat register and the admistration
and supervision of guardianship matters. The Local Register
Office makes decisions on issues relating to change of name.
These tasks have been transferred to the Local Register Office
from other authorities during 1999. |
| In the form of a local service unit, the Local
Register Office takes part in the maintenance of the Trade Register
and the Register of Associations and issues extract and copies
thereof. |
| The maintenance of registers is statutory. The
information is received from authorities, organisations and
citizens. |
| The Hyvinkää Local Register Office is
one of the 24 Finnish Local Register Offices. |

It
all begins at birth:

| Information on the birth of those whose municipality
of residence is within the area of operations of the Local Register
Office is registered at the Office. The personal identify number
of the child can be read from the Population Information System
after the registration. The Local Register Office also attends
to the registration of the names of children. |
| The Local Register Office makes decisions relating
to changes in first and last names. |
| The Local Register Office records information
on death. |

Notices
of moving are filed with the Local Register Office:

| The Local Register Office updates the address
information of persons on the basis of notices of moving, which
it receives via a telephone service or in writing by notice
of moving forms. |
| A municipality of residence is registered for
aliens moving permanently to Finland, at which time they receive
a Finnish personel identity number. Also a person residing in
Finland for a short period may be issued a personel identity
number. |

the services of a notary public, issuing certificates and certifying
copies as well as confirmation of real-estate transactions,
receiving notifications under

| On the basis of the information maintained by
the Local Register Office relating to addresses and local electoral
areas and polling stations, a register of those entitled to
vote is compiled for elections. Information on voting may be
checked at and extracts from the register of those entitled
to vote may be ordered from the Local Register Office. |
| The genealogy service is intended for those making
estate inventories. The Local Register Office handles, where
necessary, the confirmation of the list of heirs of an estate
inventory deed. |

Information for
the common good:

| Information services provide up-to-date data sampling
from the Population Information System. The Local Register Office
provides for example statistics on population and age classes,
nationality and native language, lists of residents in housing
corporations and updated changes therein, individual address
information as well as address sampling for example for direct
marketing and research. This information may be ordered by companies,
organisations, research institutions and individual citizens
for an agreed purpose. |
| Everyone may check his own information at the
Local Register Office and forbid the delivery of his information
if he so wishes. |
| From the National Real Estate Information System,
the Local Register Office delivers certificates on encumbrances
and on the registration of title to real property as well as
extracts from the real-estate register. |

Local
Trade Register and Register of Associations:

| The Trade Register and the Register of Associations
issues extracts from the registers maintained by the National
Board of Patents and Registration as well as copies of articles
of association. |
| The Trade Register registers housing corporations
and changes in their articles of association and in the members
of their Boars of Directors as well as provides advice to customers. |
| Also notifications of other company forms and
associations are received. |
